Babad Usana Jawa is a babad (chronicle) manuscript preserved as part of the lontar (palm-leaf) collection at Gedong Kirtya, Singaraja, with several copies recorded in the institution's catalog with the script's number Va. 3438. The text is written in Old Javanese. Its story traces the history of the Majapahit Kingdom under a king ruling from Alas Terik, with Patih Gajah Mada and Sirarya Damar as the kingdom's two leading figures, before expanding to the affairs of Bali, then ruled by Sri Tapolung with Ki Pasunggrigis as his prime minister. The narrative continues through Majapahit's effort to conquer Bali, led by Arya Damar and Gajah Mada, with attacks launched from multiple directions until Bali fell into Majapahit's hands. Partway through the story, the arrival of an envoy named Kuda Pangasih bringing news of the state of the battle sets off a chain of events leading toward the end of the conquest. The story then continues to the point where the Arya brothers were each assigned to new territories in Bali, forming the final part of the narrative contained in this manuscript.
