Pura Tambangan Badung is one of the oldest temples in Bali, founded in 1660 AD before the first Anglurah Pemecutan came to power. In Babad Karana, before having the name Pura Tambangan Badung, this temple was called Pura Taman then changed to Pura Ayu Panestaran Panembangan Badung. Tambangan Badung Temple was expanded and restored by Bhatara Sakti Raja Badung. Then it became the authority of Puri Agung Pemecutan. This temple has been renovated several times in 1928 and 1990 until it can look like now.
The area of Tambangan Badung Temple is about two hectares. Tambangan Badung Temple is divided into three mandalas with the most pelinggih positions in the main mandala. The first mandala is located right in front of Pasah Pemecutan Market, there are two cannons called Gora and Gori.

In the second mandala, there is a large open building that functions as a temple wantilan. Leaving the second mandala, we will enter the main mandala by passing through a uniquely shaped bracketed temple. The main mandala is the most spacious part of Badung Mine Temple compared to other mandala areas. The main mandala looks like an ancient kingdom.
The main part of the mandala has very unique temples, including the hyang ibu candi temple whose structure is in the form of a temple, in which there are two phalluses. It is said that under this temple are buried important inscriptions that tell the story of the temple and the kingdom of Bali.
