Dug-Dug Mong is an annual tradition in Batuyang Village, Sukawati, Gianyar, Bali, celebrated on Kajeng Kliwon Sasih Kepitu, a sacred day in the Balinese calendar. Dug-Dug Mong is held annually on the day of Kajeng Kliwon Sasih Kepitu, a sacred day in the Balinese calendar. At that time, Bali was often struck by disasters and wars between regions, which claimed many lives. To ward off these various calamities, King Jayapangus ordered the creation of 11 barongs throughout Bali. One of them was the barong in Batuyang Village, which eventually gave birth to the Dug-Dug Mong tradition.

The name Dug-Dug Mong comes from the sound of the instruments accompanying this tradition: the kendang (that produces the "dug-dug" sound and the kemong that sounds like "mong."
