Historically, Sumampan waterfall located in Gianyar regency was formed accidentally, initially this waterfall never existed, unlike the existence of other waterfalls in Bali, which are usually formed long ago, and sometimes just discovered so that it becomes a new tourist destination. However, Sumampan waterfall was formed due to water seepage from the leakage of irrigation tunnels leading to the Blahbatuh area. The water seepage spread to the side of the cliff for a long time, but due to the continuous excavation of solid rock under the cliff, the flow of the waterfall was focused at one point so that a waterfall was formed which is now called Sumampan waterfall.
