Nabhaga was a pious and devoted king from the Ikshvaku dynasty, renowned for his unwavering dedication to honoring his ancestors and his just rule. His lineage was celebrated for its commitment to justice and righteousness, and Nabhaga continued this tradition diligently. Among his notable descendants was Shraddhadev, a king distinguished by his boundless devotion to Lord Shiva, which characterized his reign.

One day, King Nabhaga, immersed in reverence for Lord Shiva revered by his ancestors, decided to perform an elaborate yagya, a grand ritual of worship. This yagya was intended to serve as a testament to his true devotion, and he invited Lord Shiva to be the principal participant. Nabhaga saw this ritual as an opportunity to honor the deity who symbolized his family's faith.

As the yagya proceeded, Lord Shiva appeared with His divine majesty. The light emanating from Shiva's presence transformed the atmosphere into a tapestry of divine light. Nabhaga, awestruck by the sight of the deity he revered, bowed deeply and felt a profound spiritual connection.

Seeing the depth of Nabhaga’s devotion, Lord Shiva decided to grant him one boon. The deity's eyes  gazed gently at Nabhaga. “O Nabhaga,” Shiva spoke, His voice resonating with divine harmony, “Your devotion is pure and your intention sincere. Ask for one boon, and I shall grant it.”

With humility, Nabhaga prayed that he might forever be engaged in the service of Shiva and always be deemed worthy to serve Him. Shiva smiled and granted the request, promising that Nabhaga would forever be His devotee and that His presence would always be with him.

The yagya was conducted with tenderness and dedication. Nabhaga experienced a heightened state of spiritual awareness and an unparalleled bond with Lord Shiva. Following his father's guidance, he approached the Brahmins of the Gotra Angiras to rectify errors in the Vaishvadev offerings. The Brahmins, satisfied with Nabhaga's devotion and sincerity, completed the ritual and entrusted the remaining wealth to him before ascending to heaven.

However, as Nabhaga began to amass wealth, a mysterious figure named Krishna Darshan appeared from the north. This figure, dressed in dark robes and exuding an aura of authority, claimed that all the remaining wealth was his. Nabhaga, though surprised, responded with humility, stating that the wealth had been entrusted to him by the holy sages.

Krishna Darshan advised Nabhaga to consult his father about the claim. Nabhaga followed this advice, and his wise father reminded him that according to the decision of the holy sages at the Dakshprajapati yagya, the wealth from the yagya belonged to Rudradev. Knowing this truth, Nabhaga returned to Krishnadarshan and declared that all the remaining wealth belonged to Lord Rudra.

Lord Rudra, impressed by Nabhaga's integrity and obedience, praised his actions and bestowed upon him the knowledge of the eternal element of Brahma. Lord Rudra also offered a portion of the yagya's wealth as an additional blessing. With the newly acquired wisdom of Brahmagyan, Nabhaga continued his devotion and attained the highest knowledge of Brahma. His journey, marked by dedication and righteousness, ended in eternal unity with the Divine, serving as an example of the power of faith and the grace of the gods.
