VR application of Pura Pedharman Pasek at Besakih Temple: Reviving ancestral Heritage in the Digital Age
Besakih Temple, as the spiritual and cultural center of the Island of the Gods, now comes with the latest innovation that combines tradition with modern technology. Through an Android-based Virtual Reality (VR) application, Pura Pedharman Pasek can now be explored virtually, providing an immersive and interactive experience for visitors.
Bali Island, known as the Island of a Thousand Temples, has various types of temples based on their functions and characteristics. Kahyangan Jagat Temple, including Besakih Temple, is a universal place of worship for Hindus. However, many visitors do not have access to detailed information about the history and spiritual significance of these temples. One such temple is Pedharman Pasek Temple, which serves as a shrine to the sacred ancestor Dewa Pitara, playing an important role in the spiritual life of Hindus. However, the delivery of information about this temple has been limited to text, which is often less interesting and does not provide an adequate visual description. In response to this need, the Pedharman Pasek VR application was designed to visualize the shape and location of the temple, providing a deeper and clearer understanding.
