Jiwadwipa Citta Budaya 2026: A Masterpiece by Information Technology Students Blending AI Music, Contemporary Art, and the Musical Drama of Ingtai and Sampik

DENPASAR – Suastika Hall, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, transformed into a magnificent stage bringing together noble traditions and future technological innovations on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Students of the Information Technology Study Program, Class of 2025, successfully held a grand event titled "Jiwadwipa Citta Budaya," an art performance that was not only entertaining but also laden with philosophical meaning.

Bearing the theme "Nangun Komunikasi, Nyambung Rasa, Ngardi Kerta Loka," the event aimed to build communication based on spiritual awareness and cultural wisdom to create harmony. Working together with budayabali.com as a collaborator, this performance served as proof that technology students are capable of developing cultural preservation through a modern approach.

The event opened with a solemn atmosphere through the reading of a prayer, before the stage was finally taken over by the elegance of the dancers in the Tenun Dance. This traditional Balinese dance, which is now increasingly rare to see performed, was specifically chosen to symbolize hard work and precision.

Every movement of the dancers depicted weaving activities, from spinning the thread to becoming cloth. The beauty of the movements reflected philosophies of patience, structure, and solid teamwork. This performance served as the initial foundation, emphasizing that the success of a great work, like a beautiful woven cloth, is born from a web of neat communication and coordination.

As Information Technology students, the touch of digital innovation became the main highlight in the musical entertainment segment. The audience was mesmerized by the vocal performance of Gung Vimala.

What made this performance special was the musical accompaniment. Not entirely using conventional instruments, Gung Vimala sang accompanied by AI (Artificial Intelligence) Music, an original creation by the students of the Class of 2025. The blend of soulful human vocals with musical arrangements composed by intelligent algorithms created a unique harmony, affirming the organizers' identity as young talents who are tech-savvy without forgetting artistic aesthetics.

An emotional atmosphere briefly enveloped Suastika Hall during the screening of the Jiwadwipa Citta Budaya Grand Event Video. This video was not merely documentation, but a visual tribute recording the sweat and dedication of the committee and all parties involved. The audience was invited to see the long journey behind the scenes, implying the message that the success of this event was the fruit of tireless collective hard work.

However, tears of emotion were soon replaced by beats of admiration as the event reached its peak: the staging of the Grand Drama "Sampik Ingtai." Not just a conventional drama, this performance was packaged as a magnificent musical drama.

This classic tragic love story from the Land of Waciu was brought back to life with a fresh contemporary touch. The audience was treated to an "emotional rollercoaster"; starting from romantic scenes accompanied by melodious songs, to comedy segments that shook the room with laughter. One cultural highlight that stole the show was the performance of Megenjekan, a Balinese group vocal art form that was beautifully integrated into the storyline, adding to the festivity and artistic richness of the stage.

The excitement truly "exploded" when the boundary between the stage and the audience was broken. The main actors performed a breaking the fourth wall action by calling the Head of the Study Program (Koprodi) and the former Head of the Study Program up to the stage. In a session of ad-libs that were humorous yet meaningful, the actors invited the program leaders to chat casually like old friends. This rare moment was cleverly utilized to convey student aspirations, discuss issues regarding program management, and ask for advice, serving as a warm and humanistic introduction to the program leaders.

Jiwadwipa Citta Budaya also became a prestigious stage for academic appreciation. The committee presented awards (Awarding) to students who made it into the ranks of the best article writers of 2025, as well as awards for innovative works in the Information Technology Trends course.

Guided by the MC duo, Tania Gracia and Bagus Eri, Jiwadwipa Citta Budaya 2026 was a massive success, not only as an art performance but as a harmonious meeting space between technology, cultural preservation, and a sense of brotherhood.
