Badung Regent Attends Ngeteg Linggih Ceremony at Pura Merajan Ageng Padang Subadra, Sulangai Village

BADUNG – Tuesday, April 8, 2025 – A solemn and reverent atmosphere surrounded the Ngeteg Linggih Ceremony held at Pura Merajan Ageng Padang Subadra, Banjar Wanasari, Sulangai Village, Petang, Badung. This sacred ceremony was attended by the Regent of Badung, I Wayan Adi Arnawa, along with his entourage and local figures and officials, including the Head of Sulangai Village, Mr. I Nyoman Sunarta. Their presence symbolized strong support for the preservation of Balinese traditions and spirituality.

The Ngeteg Linggih Ceremony is one of the significant rites in Balinese Hindu tradition, aimed at sanctifying and establishing the divine presence of the Gods and Goddesses at the temple, serving as a place of worship and spiritual energy for the extended family who maintain the temple.

Regent of Badung, I Wayan Adi Arnawa, took part in a joint prayer at Pura Merajan Ageng Padang Subadra.

In his remarks, the Regent of Badung expressed his deep respect and appreciation for the people of Sulangai Village for their spirit of unity and dedication to preserving traditional customs. He emphasized that the Badung Regency Government consistently supports religious and cultural activities as an essential part of community spiritual development.

"We should be grateful and proud of the spirit of togetherness and devotion shown by the people. Preserving temples and traditions like this is a strong foundation for harmony in Badung society," said the Regent.

Furthermore, the Regent highlighted the tremendous potential of Sulangai Village as a tourism village. With its rich natural beauty, vibrant culture, and deep spirituality, Sulangai is a tourism asset that deserves continuous and sustainable development.

“Sulangai Village has extraordinary potential as a tourism village. It is our shared responsibility—both the government and the community—to continue encouraging its growth so that it becomes a destination not only naturally beautiful but also deeply rooted in cultural and spiritual values,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Sulangai Village, I Nyoman Sunarta, expressed his gratitude for the Regent’s presence and the ongoing support from the local government. He also emphasized that the ceremony is not only a form of yadnya (sacred offering) but also an effort to strengthen the village’s cultural identity.

“Sulangai is not only a place of natural beauty but also rich in spiritual and traditional values. We hope the government will continue to support us in developing the village’s potential, especially as a culture- and environment-based tourism village,” said Nyoman Sunarta.
