Babad Pasek Bendesa: Origin, Journey, and Lineage

The Babad Pasek Bendesa is a chronicle manuscript numbered Va. 5b59, preserved at Gedong Kirtya, Singaraja, originating from the collection of Puri Gede Kaba-Kaba. The story follows the journey of the descendants of I Gede Manik Mas who came from Majapahit, down to his ancestor I Gede Bandesa Mas, who accompanied the arrival of Sri Aji Kepakisan to Gelgel and was bestowed an honorary title for his devoted service. From one generation to the next, the story is filled with political upheaval in the Gelgel court, intermarriages between noble families, and the spread of descendants across various parts of Bali from Mengwi, Tabanan, and Badung to Buleleng along with a spiritual legacy intertwined with Ida Padanda Dwijendra and the founding of Pura Taman Pule. This chronicle is not merely a genealogy, but a story of a lineage that continued to endure, grow, and leave its mark across the island of the gods.
