Babad Bali Aga : The Ancestral Journey, Resistance, and Heritage of Bali

Babad Bali Aga is a manuscript that recounts the journey of the Balinese people, from their believed Austronesian ancestry, when they lived in groups, to their development into the Bali Aga community. The story continues with the arrival of Maharsi Markandeya from India, his journey to Bali, and the development of the Bali Aga community following the rise of Majapahit rule. This journey also includes the resistance of the Bali Aga people around Lake Batur, as well as the existence of Tenganan and Trunyan Villages, which have continued to preserve their ancestral customs and values to this day, while the Bali Aga and the wong Majapahit live side by side on the island of Bali.
