Babad Dewa Ring Tolangkir: The Destiny of the Four Mountain Guardian Bhatara Amidst Conflict, Curses, and the Birth of Bali’s Sacred Order
Babad Dewa Ring Tolangkir is a babad manuscript recorded in the collection of Gedong Kirtya Singaraja under the code Va. 5121, originating from the Geria Telaga, Sanur collection. The manuscript uses the Balinese language mixed with Middle Old Javanese and is written in the Balinese script. The story tells the journey of the Bhatara who reside in various sacred mountains, particularly the four siblings: I Raras of Mount Andakasa, I Lyang of Mount Lebah, Bhatara Batur of Mount Batur, and I Sruna of Mount Agung. Each of the four Bhatara holds their own responsibility in maintaining the balance of nature, ranging from caring for gardens, plants, and animals, to preserving life within their respective domains.
