Canting Camplung: A Small Dance Studio with Big Spirit in Dauh Puri Kaja

The Canting Camplung Dance Studio was founded in 1993. Its origins stem from the children's habit of practicing dance in the hamlet. When the hamlet underwent renovations, the practice was moved to the house of the late I Nyoman Sudiana. From this humble setting, the studio grew and remains active as a platform for dance learning.

Canting Camplung focuses specifically on Balinese dance. In addition to being a learning space, the studio also offers dance costume rentals, bridal makeup services, and tooth filing services. This role makes Canting Camplung more than just a training ground, but also a vital part of the community's cultural activities.

Activities at the studio extend beyond routine practice. Students actively participate in various events, from studio advancement performances, cultural performances organized by the Denpasar City Cultural Office, and ngayah (singing) at temples. The studio also frequently participates in dance competitions, which serve as a platform to gauge their abilities and strengthen their artistic identity.

This studio has achieved numerous accomplishments. One notable achievement is the Parama Patram Budaya award, which recognizes Canting Camplung's significant contribution to the preservation of Balinese dance.
